Our Story

Christian and Angelica met in 2016 at the University of Arizona. Angelica had just returned from a trip to Australia, and her friends had started going to Christian’s fraternity. Her first reaction was, “Ew”… and then she went to the parties anyway.

They weren’t an instant love story—honestly, they were barely friends. They kept crossing paths—at school events, in classrooms, and even at their most-frequented Vietnamese spot in Tucson. Everything changed at the start of Christian’s senior year, when he suffered a life-changing accident that landed him in the ICU with a severe brachial plexus injury. Angelica went to check on him—just to make sure he was okay—and everything shifted.

As Christian began recovering, they spent more time together: talking, laughing, driving all over Tucson, simply showing up for each other. Weeks later, while walking through the Tucson Mall before an Arizona football tailgate, Christian reached for Angelica’s hand for the first time. He never let it go.

Almost ten years later, here they are. Christian is still healing—doctors once said he would never use his hand again, but he continues to defy expectations every day. They now work together at his family’s business. Christian runs marathons, loves UFC and DJ Shows, and knows a little too much about current events. Angelica loves heated workout classes, HomeGoods, great food, thrifting, and a good outfit.

They live in Brea with their dog Josie and recently rescued their second dog, Ichi, from South Korea. Their perfect day starts before sunrise: a 5am wake-up, gym session, a long dog walk, great food with their families, and in bed by 8pm. They’re taking life one step at a time—rooted in trust, patience, faith, and gratitude for every step along the way—and feeling incredibly lucky to be doing it together.

On November 16, 2024, Christian proposed in Corona del Mar, surrounded by loved ones, on a beach that now feels like the beginning of everything. They can’t wait to celebrate with all of you as they begin the next chapter of their story.
